HOW TO TURN A CHILD INTO A SCORPION

1 yellow sweatshirt
1 pair yellow sweat pants
1 dryer vent tube
2 crab claws (from the butcher’s case)
1 crab leg (from the butcher’s case)
1 pair gloves
1 can mustard-y yellow spray paint
1 funnel
Needle and thread

Cook the crab and have a snack! When you’re done, dry the claws and leg well. Cut the dryer tube to an appropriate length. Take the sweatsuit, gloves, dryer tube, funnel and crab claws and leg outside with some newspapers. Spray paint them, adding stripes to the scorpion body on the sweatsuit.

Pull the crab leg through the funnel to make a stinger. Pull the funnel through the dryer tube to make the tail. Sew the end of the dryer tube to the seat of the sweatpants by hand. Attach the claws to the thumbs of the gloves.

Teach your child the scientific name of the bark scorpion, Centruriodes, and then teach them how “scary” they are and to keep away from them!
