FOURce of Poetry

Posted on June 3, 2012

Poetry is condensation. The number four is relevant.

My poetry is structured in fours: four beats per line, four lines per stanza, four stanzas per poem.

I don’t know why!

Here is an example of such a poem:

SOUNDS

The “pops” off of

Well-clubbed golf balls

Airs displace and

Resistance falls/

The “staccat” lilt

Pebbles and stone

Pouring a roll

In  glass bowl zone….

The “wob” drips wet

Liquids confide

Lavender oil

Wave bathtub tide~

The “ssst” that’s heard

After the scratch

Sandpaper, wood

Match for the match!
